Over the past ten years, DataStrait Networks has built its core line of data communications product line around the powerful market combination of Ortronics and Berk-Tek, who themsleves have formed a strategic alliance (see NetClear). In that same time, the company has added test and measurement, structured wiring, hardware, tools, and cable product lines to complete the total solution approach.
DataStrait Networks began as Primus Datacom. The new company was formed in 1998 after James Roux purchased the data communications portion of Primus Marketing - another manufacturers' agent in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. The move allowed both companies to focus on emerging and separate markets.
As of January 1, 2001, Primus Datacom changed its name to DataStrait Networks aiming for a more symbolic evolution from its roots. Click here to read the press release.
